Applied learning at Wichita State

At Wichita State, applied learning is everything. In fact, every degree we offer has a guaranteed applied learning or research experience built right into it equipping you with the relevant skills and experience to make you workforce ready before graduation.

Admission to the program

To be admitted to the program, applicants must:

  • Be admitted to the WSU Graduate School
  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA in the last 60 credit hours of coursework. Students with a GPA lower than 3.0 may apply with a GER or GMAT scores for consideration.
  • Submit a personal statement
  • Submit a professional resume
  • Meet the minimum TOEFL and IELTS requirements (for international applicants)

Inside the Program

New facility for the National Institute for Research and Digital Transformation

Wichita State University is moving forward on a facility to house the National Institute for Research and Digital Transformation (NIRDT) as part of WSU's Interdisciplinary Research initiative. Research and partnerships created in the facility will be focused around the convergence of faculty and students from many different WSU departments across the university for the sole purpose of developing research in a broad range of economic sectors, including the high-tech sectors, health sector, manufacturing, defense and logistics while supporting the aviation and aerospace industries.

Curriculum

The degree offers you two track options: management and data science.

  • The management track focuses on developing capabilities in leading analytics initiatives.
  • The data science track focuses on the use of innovative tools and techniques in data analytics.

Courses are a mix of 16-week classes and eight-week hybrid classes. While taking the eight-week hybrids, you'll attend class once a week and also complete work online.
