Curriculum

The 16-credit-hour graduate certificate showcases your extended learning regarding literacy and dyslexia. The program provides graduate-level studies in literacy for educators who wish to advance their knowledge and skills of teaching literacy in the classroom and integrate literacy into all content areas. The certificate also provides advanced study for teachers and educators seeking lead positions in buildings where literacy is a focus for federal legislation and state accreditation.

Admission to the program

There are two paths to admission to the program:

For those already enrolled in graduate school, simply complete the Declaration of Intent to Pursue a Certificate Form.
Prospective students should apply using the Graduate School application for admission.

Cousin with autism inspires student to write book

WSU student Amy Lightfoot has authored a children's book titled “My Cousin Lili.” The book is the real-life story about Lightfoot and how her cousin Lilian, who has autism spectrum disorder, inspired her to understand and love people with disabilities.
