Undergraduate CertificateGraphic Narrative Coding and Accessibility

Wichita State’s undergraduate certificate in Graphic Narrative Coding and Accessibility combines hands-on learning and analytical problem solving in three rapidly growing fields: comics, computer science and disability studies. Students gain practical experience, and a portfolio, by translating comics for accessibility, the digital humanities and other uses.

Curriculum

This certificate is multidisciplinary, is open to students in every major and is comprised of 12 credit hours—including two required courses, ID 405: Seminar in Applied Innovation and ENGL 377: Graphic Novels. The remaining electives are chosen based on your interests and career goals.
 

How to enroll

To add this certificate to your plan of study: 

  • Log into the myWSU portal, find the Student Tools box (center of the page) and click "Change my Major/Minor."
  • Click continue (this will show your current major and minor).
  • Click continue, then click on "Add a certificate" and choose your certificate program. Click continue and submit request.
