Graduate Conducting

Welcome to the School of Music at Wichita State University's Conducting Program.

Graduate students are welcome to audition to join our program and study conducting with our highly respected conducting faculty. Students in the Master of Music program who want to study conducting can choose to focus in choir, orchestral, or wind/band music. Major work for degrees in conducting includes advanced conducting, analytical studies, score reading, orchestration, arranging, performance-related writing and conducting practica.

In addition, our conducting faculty lead School of Music students in numerous outstanding ensembles and chamber groups. Recitals and concerts by the school's performing organizations, faculty, guest artists and students provide the university community and Wichita area with some of the finest music being performed today.
