Students, families, faculty, staff, alumni and the greater Shocker community are all invited to take part in Shocktoberfest 2026, September 28 - October 3. This year's week includes events centered around spirit, pride and welcomes families to campus for Family Weekend.

Shocktoberfest

Shocktoberfest has been Wichita State’s annual fall celebration of Shocker Spirit and Pride since 1991. This multi-day series features events, activities, and competitions for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and our Wichita community.

Families are also invited to take part in Shocktoberfest activities and join us October 2 & 3 for Alumni & Family Weekend.

Program highlights for this upcoming year include the Shocker Bonfire, Wu's Birthday Bash, Brew Market and Parade.

Shocktoberfest is a campus wide initiative and features events and opportunities hosted by a variety of student groups and departments including support from the Foundation and Alumni Engagement, University Athletics, and Division of Student Affairs.

Family Weekend

Wichita State University Student Engagement & Belonging invites Shocker families to join us in our celebration of Shocker spirit and pride. Families are welcome to attend all events throughout the week and our special Family Weekend programs begin on October 3.

Registered Family Weekend guests will receive their official "Shocker Family" shirts, resource materials, and access to special events. Stay tuned for a full schedule.
