Message from Interim Chair, Evan Ohlman

Evan OhlmanThank you for your interest in the Wichita State University Physician Associate Program. For over 50 years we have provided an opportunity for talented and dedicated individuals to become excellent PAs and valued members of the healthcare team.

Our faculty have over 130 years of combined clinical experience and over 75 years of experience in health care education.

The Program vision is “Excellence in PA Education” and our mission is to “Transform students into highly competent, compassionate, and professional PAs.” We strive to accomplish our vision and mission by fostering an enthusiastic learning environment committed to student success; promoting patient-centered collaborative care; modeling and cultivating compassion, professionalism, and leadership; responding to the need for healthcare providers in Kansas; encouraging health care for rural, underserved, and diverse populations; and emphasizing evidence-based practice and promoting lifelong learning.

It takes a team effort to attain the level of success our students and faculty have achieved. We have high expectations of ourselves and our students and we work hard to help our students achieve excellence. The PA Program team (our students, faculty, and preceptors) strives to have passion for our work, a willingness to try new things and make mistakes, and to truly listen to each other and our customers as we continue to learn, grow and improve together.

Our dedicated and experienced faculty, longevity of the program, high pass rates, program affordability, strong community affiliations and strengths of our graduates are key reasons for our reputation as an excellent PA Program. We encourage interested individuals who want to join our team to review our Program information and consider how a career as a PA can help you achieve your professional goals.
