Help protect those who are protecting us
In response to the need among our health care workers and first responders during this difficult time, Wichita State University is serving as a central community repository for donations of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Any company or member of the community who would also like to support these professionals is encouraged to make a donation to the Wichita State initiative as the university coordinates this ongoing effort.
This initiative comes as a response to community partners, including the major hospitals, fire and law enforcement agencies, asking Wichita State University for donations of any PPE, including:
- N-95 respirator masks
- surgical masks
- latex gloves
- surgical gowns
- protective face shields.
We are also accepting non-PPE items, including:
- Non-PPE cloth face masks
- Sanitizing Gel
- Sanitizing Wipes
Wichita State's made an initial distribution of PPE and other items to the Kansas Children’s Foundation to meet the needs of Wesley Medical Center, and to local fire and police departments. We will continue to coordinate with the local hospitals, Kansas Department of Emergency Management, the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County on subsequent distribution of PPE.
NOTE: This is a complex, challenging, and fluid situation which continues to evolve rapidly. All information is subject to change as deemed necessary by University leadership in accordance with guidance and recommendations issued by federal, state, and local public health and government officials.
