As a WSU student in the 1970s, Bob Workman helped install the Miro mural at the Ulrich Museum of Art. Now as new Ulrich director, Workman is leading the project to refinish and re-install the Miro. In its place now is work done by WSU Art & Design faculty member Levente Sulyokwork.

May 15, 2013 — By Lainie Rusco — Bob Workman returned to Wichita State this year to take over as director of the Ulrich Museum of Art. Workman earned his undergraduate here and is excited to help lead the many projects the Ulrich has under way, especially the renovation of the Miro mural, which he helped install more than 30 years ago as a student.

Apr 24, 2013 — By WSU News Services — Wichita State men's and women's varsity eight rowing teams reached the semifinals in the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships April 20 and 21, in Oak Ridge Tenn. The Shocker women placed sixth overall out of 24 teams; the men placed 14th out of 27.

Laura Schlapp, a senior at Wichita State, traveled to China in August 2012 with Barton International Group. It is one of the many opportunities she received at WSU.

While a student, she has traveled to China with Barton International Group, works part time as a communications assistant for U.S. Rep.
