Apr 29, 2011 — By WSU News Services — The WSU Percussion Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, in Wilner Auditorium with guest artists John Harrison and Hack.Art.Lab. Highlights of the program will include Mary Ellen Childs' "Still Life," accompanied by a reactive animated video, and Lou Harrison's "Suite for the American Gamelan and Solo Violin."

Peter Fast, Allen Herbert, Adrienne Bottom, John Bird and Iwan Broodryk hold the plane that took fourth in the Design/Build/Fly Competition April 15-17 in Tucson, Ariz. With the help of underclassmen, the five seniors battled hot and gusty Arizona conditions to successfully complete three different missions. The team, nicknamed SHARBDU, Shockers Aerial Bag Deployed Unit, worked for more than eight months on the design and testing of the plane.
