May 6, 2021 -- Saniya Ahmed came to Wichita State where she found her ideal major in health sciences and many scholarship opportunities. Since coming to Wichita State, she has helped establish the first Muslim sorority on campus, and in the nation, Mu Delta Alpha Sorority Inc., and been awarded the Phenomenal Women award by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

May 6, 2021 -- Kathy Phan, a native Wichitan, wanted to find a university that was affordable for her, Wichita State provided that proximity to her family. During her time at Wichita State, she’s been involved in several organizations including Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority Inc., Asian Student Conference and an ambassador for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

May 5, 2021 - Wichitan Heather Clark will take a laboratory research position in St. Louis after graduation from Wichita State University. Heather is one of more than 3,500 students eligible for spring 2021 graduation. Learn more about her time at Wichita State and what is next for the grad.

May 4, 2021 — Sierra Gladman came to Wichita State to learn graphic design in a beneficial and local environment. She wants to help a company grow using her graphic design skills.

April 30, 2021 – Twelve years following receiving her Master’s in Business Administration, Janet Federico moved from Washington, D.C. to Wichita to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Wichita State after rediscovering herself as an author, speaker and illustrator later her career.

May 4, 2021 – Matthew Ferguson, a native Wichitan, chose to attend Wichita State to be close to his family and discover his passions. He is one of more than 3,500 students eligible for spring 2021 graduation.

May 1, 2021 – Caitlyn Hammack, from Russell, Kansas, came to Wichita State University because she wanted to be close to her family to see them often. During her time at Wichita State, she’s been involved in several organizations, including the Student Government Association.

May 1, 2021 – Mackenzie Haas, from Fountain, Colo., was involved in several organizations during her time at Wichita State including the Student Government Association and Uniting Bold Sisters.

May 1, 2021 – Payton Morgan, a native Wichitan, is a Wichita East High School alumnus. He chose to attend Wichita State because of the relationships he already had with Wichita State students and staff.

May 14, 2021 — Anisia Brumley, a native Wichitan, is a Wichita Northeast Magnet High School alumna. She chose to attend Wichita State because as a first-generation student, Wichita State provided her with a sense of comfort and familiarity.

April 21, 2021—For the 10th year straight, Wichita State University has been named as the top transfer destination for Kansas community college students.

April 15 -- Competing in the 2019 Distinguished Scholarship Invitational and winning a Gore Scholarshiphs allowed Anna Tri to focus on her studies without worrying about the costs of college.

April 12, 2021 – After months of hard work from Wichita State faculty members Carrie Dickison and Maria Sclafani, the Open Alternative Textbook committee approved English 102 for Open/Alternative Textbook (OAT) course designation. Starting in fall 2021, Wichita State students will no longer have to buy textbooks for English 102.
