The Business Model Video

The first round of the competition will consist of each team submitting a 3-minute video pitching their business model.  What problem are they solving, what is the solution for that problem, and what is the product market fit? These new ventures will provide a map of how they will create value and deliver it to customers.   Business leaders will review these videos providing feedback that will assist these future entrepreneurs in refining their ideas as they move their venture forward.  Only sixteen teams will move to the next round, the Trade Show.

Trade Show

The Trade Show is noted as the most exciting round of the competition and will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Teams are encouraged to set up intricate displays and pitch the team's business concept to judges. The judges will be comprised of two sectors: student judges and business leaders. All judges are given $10,000 "Shocker Dollars" to invest in a portfolio of teams that they consider "most viable" - most likely to succeed in the marketplace. At the end of the event, investment dollars will be tallied. The six teams with the most investments will advance to the Finals. Advancing teams will be notified via email.
