Gergely Záruba
Gergely is a Professor and the Chairperson of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of Wichita State University since 2018. Gergely's contact information can be found by following this link.
Previously he was with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Texas at Arlington (between 2001 and 2018). He was the Director of the Undergraduate Computer Engineering Program. He received his Computer Engineering (Technical Informatics Engineering) Master of Science degree from The Technical University of Budapest (now: Budapest University of Technology and Economics), Department of Telecommunications and Telematics in 1997. He received his Computer Science Ph.D. from the The University of Texas at Dallas in 2001. He is also a Television and Radio Repair Technician since 1992. Gergely is a senior member of the IEEE and its Communications Society.
Gergely's research interests include mobile and pervasive devices and technologies, embedded systems, health care systems and networking. More specifically, technologies and systems for healthcare, in-home aging, and people with disabilities; wireless localization, in-home wireless networking technologies and their performance, optical networking technologies, next generation wireless networks, network simulation and test bedding. He was also involved in grid computing research especially tailored towards the PanDA resource scheduler for the Large Hadron Collider's ATLAS detector. Gergely was a member of the LEARN Laboratory (specializing in health care technologies and robotics) and the Assist Laboratory (specializing in aiding people with disabilities) at UTA.
