College of Health Professions Excellence in Research Award Guidelines

  1. An award of $500 will be presented each year to a CHP faculty member in recognition of outstanding research.  
  2. The recipient can choose whether to receive cash (minus payroll taxes), deposit the award in a WSU Foundation account for professional development, or transfer the award to the college or department for use there.  
  3. Self-nominations are acceptable. Candidates will submit a short (500 word maximum) essay describing the strengths of the publications in which their research appears and the impact of their research on the profession. Nominees will also submit a current curriculum vitae.  
  4. The award will be based on an exemplary record of research that demonstrates the individual’s standing within their profession and advances CHP’s research mission.  
  5. Applications will be kept on file for three years after the original submission; applicants may update their curriculum vitae in subsequent years.  
  6. A CHP member may receive the award only once.
