Since 1928, Wichita State's College of Engineering has built a reputation on providing future engineers with the most complete engineering education imaginable. From hands-on research and the latest technology to our location in Kansas' center of industry — with its jobs, internships and professional connections — Shocker engineering students have everything they need to make their dream careers a reality.
Real-world experience
One of the many advantages of a Wichita State education is the ability to gain hands-on work experience while still going to school.
Wichita State engineering students have success securing high-profile and prestigious internships, gaining work experience from the likes of NASA, NetApp, Spirit AeroSystems, Toyota, Airbus and GE Aviation. The Shocker Career Accelerator serves as an additional powerful resource to help students with resume and interview prep, internship and post-graduation placements, and all else needed to transition into the workforce. wichita.edu/appliedlearning
To ensure our graduates earn the broad-based education that employers are looking for, the college adopted the Engineering+ program, which incorporates on-the-job learning through internship programs, undergraduate research, study abroad opportunities, leadership development and service learning. wichita.edu/engineering+
