Personal Counseling

Determining eligibility

Any currently enrolled student is eligible to receive short-term counseling at the Center. Any faculty person, or staff member is eligible for 2-3 consultation sessions.

Fee payment

Costs for appointments are $10 per visit. We accept cash, check, debit/credit card. If clients no show/ no call for their appointment a $10 fee will be placed on their account and will need to be paid at the next attended visit.

Persons requesting counseling services will be assigned a counselor as quickly as possible. There are times of the year where we experience an increase in client demand for services. During these times there may be a 2-3 week wait for an first-time appointment. If you are in crises and need to speak to a counselor immediately please inform our front office staff when you call to request an appointment. Crises include recent trauma or assault or if you are in danger of harming yourself or others.

At the time of the first appointment, clients are asked to complete a computer based assessment, which provides the Center with demographic information and mental health history. A brochure will be given to each client to explain their rights of confidentiality.

To schedule an appointment contact our office at 316-978-3440 or stop by our office in Room 320 Grace Wilkie Hall.
