Suggested framing for AI options

Many colleges and universities, including Hastings College, are exploring shared approaches to how instructors describe AI expectations in their courses. This tool offers three suggested modes to help you think through and draft assignment language:

  • No Use — AI use is not expected or permitted for this assignment.
  • Limited Use — AI may assist with specific approved tasks, with disclosure.
  • Unrestricted Use — AI may be used extensively, with transparency and accountability.

These examples are provided for reflection and adaptation. For final wording and policy details, please refer to official campus communications once they are approved.
