Housing & Residence Life (HRL) at WSU currently houses around 1300 students and is on track to house 1400+ in 2019-2020. Through our core values of engagement, inclusion, collaboration, excellence, and integrity, we aim to provide every resident with a meaningful living experience where they feel safe, supported, and can thrive as a student. HRL provides excellent service through full and part-time professional, custodial, maintenance, and student staff. We aim to support the Student Affairs division’s vision of connecting every student through intentional interactions, engaging experiences, and various leadership opportunities. HRL currently operates two residence halls, with a third scheduled to come online in summer 2019.

 The Student Conduct and Community Standards (SCCS) staff is responsible for protecting the rights, safety, and well-being of members of the campus learning, working, and living environment. This is achieved through providing a procedurally-sound, legally-compliant, developmentally-focused, and student-centered accountability process for reviewing and responding to student and student organization behavior. We work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to communicate expectations and address concerning behaviors and potential violations of University policy and connect students to helping resources for education, empowerment, and encouragement of behavior change. SCCS is responsible for protecting the rights, safety, and well-being of members of the campus learning, working, and living environment.

Student Involvement

Student Involvement is committed to students and the WSU Community by intentionally creating co-curricular experiences through student engagement and development, resulting in a vibrant campus culture that enhances their journey as a Shocker. Student Involvement is responsible for the coordination of programs and services that engage WSU students in co-curricular programs designed to enhance their overall learning experience. Student Involvement supports over 260 student organizations, 22 fraternity/sorority chapters, the Student Activities Council, the Student Government Association, Cadman Art Gallery, coordinates service-learning, sponsors civic engagement opportunities, organizes Campus Traditions and provides leadership development programs.

Student Success

This position will work with the Office of Student Success, housed in Academic Affairs, to increase the scope of existing financial literacy resources and services to students. The successful candidate will work on marketing and outreach campaigns, create a collection of online financial literacy resources, work to help increase the financial wellness among at-risk students, and coach students in areas such as creating a financial plan to pay for college, establishing credit, building spending plans and various other financial concerns of students. The graduate assistant will work 20 hours per week and report to the Director of Student Success.
