Welcome to Tutor (316)

An organization dedicated to enhancing children's literacy and mathematical development in partnership with local elementary schools. We proudly offer paid tutoring positions to Wichita State University students through Federal Work-Study funding.

Students

As a tutor, you will work directly with elementary students in their classrooms and after-school programs, providing one-on-one or small-group support in reading and math. You will receive extensive training and ongoing support from experienced staff to ensure that you are equipped to make a positive impact on the children you work with.

In addition to providing valuable support to the community, working as a tutor is an excellent applied learning experience. You will develop communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills that will benefit you in your future career.

Federal Work Study

Federal Work Study is an employment program that enables you to work part-time while you attend school and gives you valuable work experience while earning your degree.  The program pays you at least minimum wage for the hours you work.  Students who are eligible for work study are often highly desired for student employment positions because the federal government supplements the wages that you are paid by the university. Work study is available to undergraduate and graduate students. Contact the Office of Financial Aid to see if you qualify for Federal Work Study.
