Mar 15, 2013 — By Erika Elving — Wichita State's Advanced Joining and Processing Lab received a new robot from Kawasaki Heavy Industries that is advancing research to reduce weight and increase performance capabilities in aerostructures. The engineering technology, called integral fastening, is a forging process in which two or more metals are joined together without an external heat source.
