May 14, 2018 — By WSU News Services — As part of the planned demolition of the former Wichita State University Fairmount Towers Complex at the northwest corner of 21st and Hillside, crews will soon start the process of removing asbestos from inside the structures. The removal will be performed to ensure no one is in danger during the process.

May 8, 2018 — By WSU News Services — Richard Muma has been selected as Wichita State University's provost and chief academic officer, with responsibility for all of the university's teaching activities and about two-thirds of its budget and personnel.

WSU College of Engineering will again host a Cybersecurity Boot Camp this summer (July 23-27) in partnership with the 184th Intelligence Wing of the Kansas National Guard. This outreach effort is part of a broader move to build a cybersecurity workforce.

Apr 26, 2018 — By WSU News Services — On May 4, 2018, the Wichita State College of Engineering will host the 63rd Annual Open House, its yearly celebration of the accomplishments of students and faculty. This event offers an exhibition of senior projects and public tours of engineering research laboratory facilities. More than 430 engineering students on 100 project teams will exhibit their research projects.

Sixteen teams had the opportunity to pitch their new venture ideas to over 200 judges on Friday, April 20. Six teams have advanced to the finals this Friday (April, 27).
