Congratulations from Interim President Richard Muma

Congratulations from Dean Gregory Hand

Dean Gregory Hand

It is my pleasure to congratulate the entire College of Health Professions community as we celebrate our 50th anniversary. I recently started my role as the Dean for the College of Health Professions, and I am excited to join the College during this moment in history. 2020 is a milestone year for us - it also marks the 40th anniversary of Ahlberg Hall and the 125th anniversary of Wichita State University.

Since its founding in 1970, the College of Health Professions has become highly recognized for its innovative approaches in education and supplying the health care industry with skilled, passionate professionals. I’m proud to be part of the College of Health Professions because we have a broad and progressive group of disciplines with passionate faculty, staff and students who are dedicated to improving the health of our communities. As a College, we have touched countless lives through five decades of applied learning, research, and community outreach. I am confident that we will continue to play a significant role in the advancement of health professions in Wichita and the surrounding region.

2020 has been a challenging year, but occasions like this are a wonderful reminder that great things are happening. Although we are not able to celebrate together in person, it is my hope that everyone affiliated with the College takes time to reflect and take pride in all of the incredible accomplishments of the past five decades. Thank you to the alumni, donors, students, faculty and staff, both past and present, for your hard work to make the College of Health Professions a leader in health care education.

Once again, congratulations on 50 years of history-making. The future is bright for our College, and I look forward to working with you in support of our communities and future generations of healthcare providers.
