The Kansas Council for Economic Education has received a $3,500 grant from Westar Energy. Affiliated with all six public universities in Kansas, the KCEE is a non-profit organization hosted by Wichita State’s own W. Frank Barton School of Business.
The new Westar Energy grant will help the more than 100,000 Kansas school children the KCEE reaches each year build the knowledge necessary to successfully navigate their financial future. It will allow the KCEE to provide more practical application programs and competitions such as the Stock Market Game, LifeSmarts, Financial Foundations for Kids and the Kansas Economics Challenge.
The KCEE is located at WSU and has a mission to make a positive impact on the state by creating students who become more knowledgeable consumers, wiser savers and investors, more responsible citizens and better employees.
As Kansas’ largest electric utility, Westar Energy, Inc. (NYSE:WR) provides customers the safe, reliable electricity needed to power their businesses and homes.
