Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
Wichita State is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central
Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC-NCA), (hlcommission.org), an institutional
accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The University's
last review was during the 2016-17 academic year and is scheduled to be reviewed again
in 2026-27.
Wichita State University participates in a model of accreditation called Open Pathway,
which seeks to offer greater value to institutions and greater credibility to the
public in its quality assurance.
