New WSU president announcement set for Thursday, May 6

The Kansas Board of Regents has announced a meeting of the board at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 6, in the Rhatigan Student Center’s Shirley Beggs Ballroom (third floor).

The board plans to hold a public vote to name the next president of Wichita State University. Media are invited to attend the meeting, where the president-elect will make an acceptance speech before moving to RSC Room 319 (McKay Room) to take questions from the media.

SET-UP AND PARKING

Doors to the Beggs Ballroom will open at 9:30 a.m. for media setup. There will be a riser available for tripods during the announcement in Beggs Ballroom. An audio distribution box will be available for both the announcement and the news conference. We ask that you don’t put your microphone on the podium.

The Rhatigan Student Center is located off of WuShock Drive. A parking garage south of the RSC will have visitor parking on the second, third and fourth levels. Please do not park in red reserved spots.

To access the third floor of the RSC from the parking garage, enter through the southeast doors of the RSC and take an elevator or stairs to the third floor.

The announcement will also be streamed live at wsu.news/president-elect.
