Thirteen teams of Wichita State University students advanced to the Trade Show round of competition in the Center for Entrepreneurship’s Shocker New Venture Competition.
The Shocker New Venture Competition will award start-up capital to aid competitors in the launch of their new ventures.
The teams advanced after judging of the Business Model Video round. Judges evaluated teams on their ability to succinctly encapsulate their business concept through a market analysis, a clear value proposition, and a sustainable competitive advantage.

The Trade Show will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 22 at Koch Arena. Teams will set up booths and pitch their business concepts to the business leaders who are serving as judges.
With $10,000 virtual Shocker dollars, the judges will decide into which ventures to invest. At the close of the trade show, the six teams with the most “investments” by the judges will be announced. These teams will advance to the final round, which takes place on from 1 to 5 p.m. April 29 at WSU’s Devlin Hall.
The public is welcome and encouraged to witness this next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators.
