* Segwick County Commission candidates Marci Gregory and Karl Peterjohn will participate in a political debate from 2-3:15 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 2) in 226 Jabara Hall. The event is sponsored by the Political Science Club, and Campaign and Elections Class.

* In October, KMUW's Global Village program will feature "'Yock-tober': Celebrating the Weird and the Wacky in Music." Global Village airs Monday through Friday at 9 p.m. on KMUW 89.1.

* The state of Kansas has established a new mentoring program giving employees 90 minutes each pay period to take time to participate in an approved mentoring program (in Sedgwick County the approved agencies are Big Brothers Big Sisters and YouthFriends). * A world premiere musical written in memory of WSU football player Ronald Gene Johnson and those who died in a plane crash on Oct. 2, 1970, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 2) through Saturday, Oct. 4, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, in Wilner Auditorium. Call 978-3233 for tickets.

* Save lives and vote for WSU at this year's WSU Blood Drive, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 2). Look for the "What Color do You Bleed" form at the Heskett Center lobby, or go to http://webs.wichita.edu/alumni/blooddrive.htm and print one out. Fill it out and turn it in for a chance to win a sporting goods gift card.
