"Quality of Life in Older Adults -- the Impact of Swallowing Difficulties"

WSU's Regional Institute on Aging will host a lecture "Quality of Life in Older Adults -- the Impact of Swallowing Difficulties" by Lyn Goldberg from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in 101 Geology Building. Refreshments will be served at 5 p.m. Goldberg is a new WSU faculty member in the department of communication sciences and disorders whose research and teaching interests center on individuals with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia). She is particularly interested in the effects of dysphagia on quality of life for older adults and the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to assessment and intervention. She will speak about her current research work on quality of life of adults who reside in assisted living facilities.
