* Anthropology professor Buddhadeb Chaudhuri of Calcutta University will give a lecture on anthropology and human rights at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in 100 Lindquist Hall. Coffee, tea and cookies will be served at 7 p.m. in the lobby.

* A section of north Perimeter Road on the northwest side of Hubbard Hall will be closed to traffic today (Thursday, Oct. 16) through Sunday, Oct. 19, for work crews to access a water line for improvements in water distribution, valve installation and fire hydrant relocation.

* The Graduate School announces the fifth annual university-wide Graduate Research and Scholarly Projects Symposium on May 1, 2009. Abstracts and application forms must be submitted by midnight Sunday, Nov. 16.
