Aging in Focus lecture series

"Promoting Physical Activity: How to be Active for Life" is the topic of the next Aging in Focus lecture series at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, in 209 Hubbard Hall. Marcia G. Ory, professor of social and behavioral health at Texas A&M University will be the speaker. Refreshments will be served beginning at 5 p.m.

Ory is one of the nation's most recognized and published scholars in social and behavioral research in aging. Before moving to Texas A&M, she had a distinguished 20-year career at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Aging.

As director of the Active for Life National Program Office, Ory and her team are investigating how to transport research and evidence-based programs to community venues and maintain the programs over time.
