Robert Vartabedian was installed as president of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo., on Friday, Oct. 17. Vartabedian received his Master of Arts in speech communication from Wichita State University in 1980 and worked at WSU from 1981 through 1988 in various positions: director of forensics, coordinator of graduate studies in communication, head of the division of rhetoric and communication, and assistant dean of graduate studies.
