Open Enrollment ends Oct. 31 -- take action for discount

Employees are reminded that open enrollment for health benefits ends Oct. 31. You must take action to receive the discounted premium rates for 2009 by completing the online open enrollment process, or a paper tobacco declaration form if you do not have access to a computer (available from HR), and indicate that you are not a tobacco user or a tobacco user who agrees to enroll and complete a tobacco cessation telephonic course through HealthQuest. Employees who do nothing will be defaulted into the "I do not want to disclose my tobacco status" and pay the base rates. All employees are encouraged to review the health plans; there are plan changes and a new vendor to consider. Employees wanting flexible spending accounts or to participate in the HealthyKids program must re-enroll in these benefits before Oct. 31.
