Sculptor Tom Otterness available for interviews Monday, Oct. 27

A dedication ceremony for the latest sculpture by native Wichitan and internationally known sculptor Tom Otterness will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, on the Fairmount Street island south of the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University. At 4 p.m., the artist will give an illustrated slide talk in the CAC Theater. Both events are free. http://www.wichita.edu/thisis/wsunews/news/?nid=439

The "Millipede" sculpture installation kicks off Monday, Oct. 27. Here's a tentative timeline:

8 a.m. - Crane arrives
9 a.m. - Tom Otterness arrives to supervise installation of "Millipede" with Methods and Materials Inc. from Chicago (professional large-scale fine art handler and installer)
11:30 a.m. (approximately) -- Sculpture installation is completed and Otterness is available for media interviews

Please note that 11:30 a.m. is the only time Mr. Otterness will be available for media interviews.
