Reminders, deadlines and events

* WSU will have a campus-wide steam outage beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, July 9, to facilitate Kansas Gas Service replacement of the gas meter assembly outside of the Power Plant. The only disruption to normal campus operation occupants might notice is some buildings may not have hot water at sinks, and the buildings may be cooler than normal since we will not have hot water for reheat.

* As authorized by K.S.A. 75-3203a, the State of Kansas, Secretary of Administration, privately owned automobile rate increased for FY 2019 to 54.5 cents per mile. A complete list of mileage reimbursement rates can be found at https://wsu.news/travel.

* Housing and Residence Life is seeking move-in volunteers to assist residents with moving in to their rooms from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 and Friday, Aug. 17, at The Flats and Shocker Hall. If you are interested in volunteering, go to https://wsu.news/moveinvolunteers to complete the sign-up form. Volunteers get a WSU Move-In Crew T-shirt and pizza. * The university is again offering a scholarship for employees who are interested in taking a badge course as a nondegree bound student. Badges are designed for working professionals in a wide array of subject areas. Go to https://wsu.news/badgecatalog for the complete badge catalog. To receive the scholarship, employees must submit a completed Badge Interest Form at https://wsu.news/badgeintform, and be admitted and enrolled by Sept. 14, 2018.

* The 4th annual Wichita Tennis Open $25,000 Men's Futures' Pro Circuit continues in Wichita through Sunday, July 8, at WSU's Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex. For information on the Wichita Tennis Open, go to https://wsu.news/wichitatennisopen.

* The University Bookstore has rebranded itself as the Shocker Store, your official store of Wichita State University. This name will carry across all locations such as WSU Tech and athletic venue locations to establish consistency. The products and services will remain the same to serve all Shockers, both from campus and from the Wichita community. Visit us in store or online at shockerstore.com.
