WSU Library Associates presents the story of 'Tweet,' an Air Force jet trainer

Wichita State University's Library Associates will present a tribute to "Tweet," Cessna's T-37, and the Air Force's primary jet trainer for more than half a century from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 8, outside special collections, in the lower level of Ablah Library. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Find out the origin of the nickname "Tweet" and learn about the development and accomplishments of this Wichita-built airplane.

The program will include a video tribute produced by Vance Air Force Base and remarks by aeronautical engineer Harry Clements, who was there as this important chapter of aviation history was happening.

This presentation will explore the important connection between aviation and Wichita, which is so vital to the city’s recent past and present.
