State economic and financial literacy summit planned for June

On Friday, June 6, the Kansas Council on Economic Education (KCEE) will co-sponsor the first Kansas Summit on Economic and Financial Literacy.

The summit is from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Topeka-West at 605 SW Fairlawn Road. Lunch will be provided.

KCEE is a nonprofit entity based in the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University and is affiliated with all six Kansas state universities.

The Kansas State Department of Education is also sponsoring the event.

The overall objective of the summit is to grow awareness of the need for increased literacy in personal finance and economics among youth in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Tickets to the event are $15.

K-12 education administrators can attend for free and are encouraged to register for the summit online at www.kcee.wichita.edu. Others can register there as well.
