The WSU Current Conditions Index dropped 0.7 percent from fourth quarter 2007 to first quarter 2008. This decline was driven primarily by a 4 percent decline in seasonally adjusted home sales and a 2 percent decline in the seasonally adjusted number of outbound airline passengers at Wichita's Mid-Continent airport. However, the index rose 1.9 percent when comparing the 12-month period ending in March to the previous 12 months.
