Kodaly youth to end choir camp with Friday concert

After a week of singing, dancing, rehearsing and activities inbetween, the WSU Children's Kodaly Choir will perform at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, in Wiedemann Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public. It will also be broadcast on WSU's student-run Internet radio station, WSUiR, at http://wsuir.wichita.edu. For more information, contact Kirk Olson, director of WSU Kodaly (Ko-dye) programs, at 650-6056 or kodaly@wichita.edu, or visit www.kmek.org.

The concert features some 50 singers (boys and girls ages 10-14) who have participated in WSU's Children's Kodaly Choir Camp June 9-13. They have rehearsed under the direction of guest conductor Elaine Quilichini, artistic director of the Calgary Girls Choir in Canada. Composer-in-residence Rogers is a WSU alumnus now at North Park University, Chicago.
