In honor of the July 4 holiday, Global Village celebrates all month long with Americana and roots music. Global Village will explore some classic and pioneering American musicians, the growing collection of contemporary artists who look to folk, country, blues and other roots sounds for inspiration, and unique regional styles like Tejano and Zydeco. The program airs at 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays on KMUW FM89. You also can hear Global Village on the new KMUW-HD2 24-hour music service Mondays through Thursdays at midnight, 9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Fridays at 5 p.m.
