Poets on Painters finishes national tour

Following a showing at Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the Ulrich Museum's traveling exhibition "Poets on Painters" concluded its national tour June 29. The exhibition, which traveled to four venues in 2007 and 2008, highlighted contemporary painting connected to contemporary poetry. It was organized by Katie Geha, the museum's former curator of modern and contemporary art, and Travis Nichols, a freelance writer based in Seattle. Returning to the museum are two paintings from the collection: Jules de Balincourt's "Watchtower" and Dana Schutz's "Missing Link Finds Superman."
