WSU index reflects local economy

From March to April, the WSU Current Conditions Index declined 0.3 percent; yet for the 12 months ending in April compared to the previous 12 months, the index rose 1.8 percent. Of the six index indicators, the seasonally adjusted number of outbound airline passengers at Mid-Continent Airport experienced the largest percentage growth of 11.3 percent. Seasonally adjusted home sales decreased 5.6 percent, while the seasonally adjusted hotel occupancy rate declined 0.7 percent.
