Many people have been discouraged from taking vacations this summer because of high gas prices and airfares. So in August, KMUW's Global Village will offer a musical grand tour. For some 200 years, a person wasn't considered educated and properly "finished" without having made an extended journey to the great cultural capitals of Europe, particularly in France. Enjoy listening to world music artists who are creating some of the most varied and intriguing sounds in Europe today. Global Village airs Monday through Friday at 9 p.m. on KMUW FM89. You can also hear Global Village on the new KMUW-HD2 24-hour music service Mondays through Thursdays at midnight, 9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Fridays at 5 p.m.
