Adult CPR/AED clinic for faculty, staff and students

A CPR/AED clinic for students, faculty and staff will be conducted by Frank Rokosz, associate professor of Human Performance Studies, at 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, in 134 Heskett Center. The cost is $10; $2 for PEAP instructors.

Prior to attending the clinic, you should purchase and read the following American Red Cross book: "First Aid and CPR/AED for Schools and the Community" participants manual [StayWell Stock #652145]. It may be purchased at the WSU Bookstore or at the Red Cross office downtown at 1900 E. Douglas (phone 219-4060). Before attending the clinic, you should become familiar with the adult material in the first five chapters (the child and infant material is not part of this clinic). During the clinic, Rokosz will demonstrate and explain what you need to do to get certified; but he would like you to have a prior working knowledge of how to do the five skill demonstrations involved (check unconscious person, CPR, unconscious choking, conscious choking, AED). Aside from the skills demonstrations, you need to pass, with a grade of at least 80 percent, a multiple-choice written test on the assigned material.
