Faculty and staff are encouraged to let students know of an opportunity to participate in democracy as an Election Day poll worker in November. Those who work the full day, from 4:45 a.m.-8:15 p.m., receive $120. Those who work a half day, from 4:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. or 12:15-8:15 p.m., receive $60. Anyone interested in serving as a poll worker should call 660-7100 or go to www.sedgwickcounty.org/elections for an online application. The Election Commissioner is asking workers to sign up before Sept. 15 in order to have time to attend a training session. Workers must be eligible to vote.
