On Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 5:50 a.m., 7:50 a.m. and 9:50 a.m., KMUW's Carla Eckels reports on a student-led initiative called Use Another Word, Please. The campaign is designed to decrease the use of offensive and derogatory language at schools. Students encourage other students to sign pledge forms stating they will refrain from using disrespectful language when talking to each other, staff members or administrators. The initiative will begin this fall at Wichita Heights and Wichita East high schools. The story will also be posted at www.kmuw.org.
