Wichita Northwest senior wins $44,000 WSU Barton Scholarship

Bailey Bryand, a senior at Wichita Northwest High School, has won Wichita State University’s 2014 Clay Barton Scholarship in Business.

He will receive $11,000 a year for four years to attend WSU. The $44,000 Barton Scholarship is the biggest business scholarship in the state.

Bryand, the son of Renay and Maureen Bryand, plans to study marketing at Wichita State.

At Northwest High School, Bryand maintains a cumulative 4.0 GPA. He is ranked No. 1 in his class and is president of the National Honor Society.

He is also involved with Link Crew, Student Advisory Council, Superintendent Advisory Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA). 

Bryand works at Dillons, and his other extracurricular activities include soccer, football and bodybuilding.
