Engber named dean of Wichita State's Honors College

Tony Vizzini, vice president for Academic Affairs, has named Kimberly Engber dean of the Honors College at Wichita State University, effective Jan. 19. 

WSU’s Honors College was approved by the Board of Regents this fall and will welcome its first class in August 2014 from its new home in Shocker Hall.

Engber earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Kenyon College and her Ph.D. in English with a specialization in American literature and women's and gender studies at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. She received a Fulbright Scholar award to teach at the University of Zagreb in 2006, and joined the faculty at WSU in fall 2007.

Since July 2012, Engber has been director of the Emory Lindquist Honors Program which is now part of the Honors College.
