WSU's Innovative Campus plan already in practice at NIAR labs

The following is an excerpt from an Sept. 9 report by television station KWCH in Wichita about Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research.

Wichita State University leaders say the concept of the Innovation Campus they expect to begin building next year is already in practice at the school with NIAR, the National Institute for Aviation Research, which opened in 1985.

There, university researchers work with private companies in collaborations like CIBOR, the Center of Innovation for Biomaterials in Orthopaedic Research, a biomedical research center. The researchers and student assistants are making new discoveries every day.

In this bio-materials lab students and professional engineers work side by side perfecting medical products of the future.
