Fraternities at WSU take the 'It's On Us' pledge

Acknowledging that sexual assault is one of the most prominent problems facing universities across the nation, the fraternity men at Wichita State will take the pledge of the "It's On Us" campaign recently launched by President Obama.

In taking the pledge, the men will promise “To recognize that nonconsensual sex is sexual assault. To identify situations in which sexual assault may occur. To intervene in situations where consent has not or cannot be given. To create an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.”

Each of the 11 fraternities has chosen to write their own chapter-specific pledge, and will launch it on social media this week. These fraternity men will challenge their fellow man to reform the cultural norms associated with sex on campuses across the United States. It is the hope that other men on campus will follow the lead by visiting itsonus.org and taking the pledge.
