Shockers to face Arizona in NCAA First Round

Fresh of an NCAA First Four victory over Vanderbilt, the Wichita State Unviersity Shockers men's basketball team will square off against 6th-seeded Arizona Wildcats (25-8) at 8:20 p.m. Thursday night in Providence, Rhode Island.

On Tuesday, the Shockers advanced by making seven three-pointers in the second half to blow by the Commodores 70-50 in Dayton, Ohio.

The Shockers were led by 14 points each for the senior guard tandem of Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet. Baker had a game-high 9 rebounds while VanVleet contributed 7 assists. Senior post Anton Grady added 11 points and 7 rebounds.

With the win, WSU improved to 25-8 on the season, marking the seventh straight season the Shockers have garnered 25 wins or more.
