Wichita State University will be among the first universities in America to host an F45 workout studio, which will open Jan. 9 in the Heskett Center.

Offering 16 systemized programs that fit the “functional, 45-minute” workout model, the new space will hold $150,000 of state-of-the-art work out equipment, provided to the university by F45 Functional Group Training.

Through collaboration with F45 and the WSU Alumni Association, Campus Recreation renovated the racquetball courts on the lower level of the Heskett Center to accommodate the new space.

”It feels like you’re not in the Heskett Center when you get even close to it. It’s bright and it’s a completely different feel; I really recommend it.”

– Andy Sykes

The first F45 studio in Kansas, the space will offer two free classes a day during its opening week, one at noon and the other at 5:15 p.m. There will be an all-day open house to finish the week on Jan. 13.

Though the space is not available outside of a scheduled class, it will provide 18 sessions a week, which are free to students and Shocker Fit members. To see a full schedule, go to www.wichita.edu/shockerfit.
